Student-Centered Assessment

This module has helped me think about student-centered assessment in the following ways...Brain storm issues that I might have with student centered assessments and solutions to these problems. For example for each student-centered assessment I give I am now going to consider what I really want students to do and model my expectations to them. I plan on giving more specific rubrics and allow students to privately evaluate the group to compare what each student thought.

Unit Plan

Unit Plan Title-Catch the Wave
I would like my student to be able to summarize factors that influence the basic properties of waves (including frequency, amplitude, wavelength, and speed).Under this standard I want students to be able to; recognize the basic properties of waves; recall the factors that influence the basic properties of waves Interpret; illustrate diagrams of transverse waves by identifying specific characteristics. Students will communicate their findings in a PowerPoint or use Photo Story to demonstrate their understand.

Instructional Designer

This module has made me think about my role as an instructional designer in the following ways..
  • Consider assessments before planing unit.
  • Consider alternative assessments for all types of learners.
  • Would like for my students to be able to see a relevance in learning.
  • Use technology to enhance learning.
